German Ambassador Visits the Trust

  H.E. Lutz Goergens, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany visited the Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust for the first time.

Over the years the German Embassy has provided funds for Climate Change

projects to the Trust for programmes that were implemented successfully

in both Primary & Secondary schools as well as community groups in

Trinidad and Tobago. This recent visit gave Ambassador Goergens a

"hands-on" opportunity to experience one of our Nature Walks; to meet

some of the standard 5 students from Reform Presbyterian school engaged

in our specially designed programme. He also had an opportunity to

discuss some of the Trust's publications as well as the Environmental

Education & Public Awareness programmes that are implemented daily;

emphasizing linkages with ourselves as human beings, climate change

issues; biodiversity & ecosystem services.

The Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust works German Embassy in Combating Climate Change in Trinidad and Tobago

The Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust is proud to be supported by the German Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago again with a grant which would enable the Trust's outreach programme "Adapting to Climate Change". Trust Educators will visit schools specifically in rural areas of Trinidad and Tobago to share educational programmes to the youth engaging them in discussions and showing them that a "green lifestyle" helps fight climate change.

The Embassy and the Trust have been long standing partners since 2011 in raising the awareness about climate change.
